Krewe of Cleopatra, Inc. (a 501(c)(4) Mardi Gras parade organization) sends recurring automated text messages to consented members only: order updates, support messages, parade and event logistics, event reminders, ticket delivery, and Krewe member updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of membership or any purchase. Reply STOP to cancel at any time or HELP for help. OPT-IN PATH 1 – MEMBER PORTAL SETTINGS PANEL:
Logged-in members visit kreweofcleopatra.org/member-profile/options/ (members-only, login required), verify their mobile number via an SMS one-time passcode, and may check an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox. The exact production consent component as rendered inside the member portal:

OPT-IN PATH 2 – MEMBERSHIP SIGNUP / RENEWAL:
During membership signup or renewal (members-only application), applicants provide their mobile number and may affirmatively check an unchecked-by-default SMS-consent checkbox carrying the same disclosure language shown above. The response is stored as SMS_CONSENT in the member database with a timestamped, versioned record of the exact consent text (evidence retained per our TCPA compliance program).
WHAT CONSENTED MEMBERS RECEIVE:
Only consented members receive messages, from our dedicated local number. Every message identifies Krewe of Cleopatra and includes opt-out instructions. Sample messages:
“Krewe of Cleopatra: Parade day update – float lineup begins 3:00 PM at the staging area. Gates open 1:30 PM. Bring your member credential. Reply STOP to opt out.”
“Krewe of Cleopatra: Tickets for the 2027 Coronation Ball are now on sale for members at kreweofcleopatra.org. Early-bird pricing ends Nov 15. Reply STOP to opt out.”
OPT-OUT AND HELP:
Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message to opt out; an opt-out confirmation is sent and no further messages follow. Reply HELP (or INFO) for assistance, or contact support@kreweofcleopatra.org. Members can also update their preferences anytime in the member portal settings panel.
